Caller information button starts a
search in the Number Display log.
Hold button puts a call on hold.
Redial button redials the last number
dialed.
Volume button adjusts the volume.
Search button changes Hiragana into
kanji.
Talk button makes/answers calls.
Flash button uses the call waiting
service.
Used when installing additional portable
handsets.
Microphone [Do not cover the
microphone while talking.]
Fax reception receives faxes.
Speakerphone button uses the
speakerphone.
Dial buttons
Tone button switches to Tone dialing
mode.
Sharp button
Off button ends a call, or ends/exits
from editing and other operations.
Phonebook button uses the
phonebook.
Intercom button pages the main unit or
another portable handset.
Multi-operation buttons refer to the
function displayed on the bottom of the
display.
They function differently depending on
the mode.
Liquid crystal display (with back light)
displays battery strength, telephone
numbers etc.
Speaker
Call/charge indicator 
will blink, when
receiving a call or placed on a charger.
