Changing Devices in the Drive Bay Using the Drive Bay Tab
To exchange devices while the power is on, you should be aware of the
following:
Do not attempt to change devices in the drive bay while the power is
on unless you use the sequence of steps on the Drive Bay tab.
Do not switch to System Hibernation mode or System Suspend mode
while changing a device.
Do not change a device in the drive bay while your computer is
accessing a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or floppy disk. Doing so may
cause loss of data. Be sure to close active applications, other than
Sony Notebook Setup, before changing a device.
When installing a hard disk drive to the drive bay for the first time, it
may take several minutes before you are able to use your computer.
For optimum performance, you should turn off your computer when
you insert a hard disk drive. If you insert a hard drive without
turning off the power, you must reboot in order for the drive to run at
optimum speed.
When changing a device in the drive bay of the docking station, you
must turn off the computer.
