down.” is displayed in the dialog
box.
“Host Unknown” is displayed after
you changed the KX-HGW200
Setup.
The KX-HGW200 web screen does
not appear.
A WWW (World Wide Web) site
does not appear.
Cause and Remedy
Turn off the KX-HGW200 and all the computers, and
then turn on the KX-HGW200 again. After that, turn on
the computers.
Make sure all the computers are set to “Obtain an IP
address automatically” (for Windows, p. 21) or “Using
DHCP Server” (for Macintosh, p. 26). Use the DHCP
server function of the KX-HGW200.
Check that the static IP address is the same value
within the KX-HGW200 DHCP Available Address Range
(p. 34).
Restart the computer and access the KX-HGW200 web
screen again.
When you change the IP address of the KX-HGW200
(p. 33), enter the new IP address in the address field of
the browser (p. 27).
The computer is not assigned a local IP address by the
KX-HGW200. Make sure the computer is set to “Obtain
an IP address automatically” (for Windows, p. 21) or
“Using DHCP Server” (for Macintosh, p. 26) and restart.
If you check the IP address is assigned correctly by the
KX-HGW200, follow the procedure below.
Click the
[Start]
button, select Run..., enter “winipcfg”,
and click
[More\Info]
, for Windows. Click Apple menu,
select Control Panels and TCP/IP, for Macintosh.
Make sure the ETHERNET indicator or HomePNA
green indicator is on. Make sure the LAN card indicator
is on. If any indicator is off, check the home network
connections.
According to the status of the home network, the web
screen does not appear quickly. Wait a second.
Confirm the connections of the cable/xDSL modem,
KX-HGW200 and home network.
Check the connection between the KX-HGW200 and
the computer by using the Ping command on the
Windows computer.
Check the Status screen (p. 42) of the KX-HGW200
web screen. From the Status screen, make sure the
KX-HGW200 is assigned an IP address from the ISP. If
it isn’t, setup the parameters in the Basic Setup screen.
Set up the proxy server use (p. 47–50).
