The Console window redisplays.

To save the console (including the Schema snap-in), go to the File (Console) 
menu and select Save. 
The Save As windows displays.
10 Save the console in the Windows\System 32 root folder. 
As file name, enter 
schmmgmt.msc.
11 Click Save.
Create a shortcut to the console window

Right-click Start, and select Open all Users.

Double-click the Programs and Administrative Tools folders.

On the File menu, point to New, and then select Shortcut. 
The Create Shortcut Wizard displays.

In the Type the location of the item field, type 
schmmgmt.msc.

Click Next.
The Select a Title for the Program page displays.

In the Type a name for this shortcut field, type 
Active Directory 
Schema.

Click Finish.
Permit write operations to the schema 
(Windows 2000 Server)
To allow a domain controller to write to the schema, you must set a registry entry 
that permits schema updates.

In the Console window, on the left pane, right-click Active Directory Schema.

Select Operations Master.
