6. How to install Windows 2000

This chapter explains how to install Windows 2000 from a SCSI CD-ROM connected to the CB31U.

If you upgrade Windows 98, Windows NT to Windows 2000 , refer to Chapter 6-1.

If you install a new copy of Windows 2000(Clean Install), refer to Chapter 6-2.

If you install Windows 2000, using a Windows 95/98 startup floppy disk, refer to Chapter 6-3.

Follow these steps through:

1.Connect your CD-ROM to the CB31U first.  Then start Windows98/WindowsNT.

2.Copy [i386] directory in the Windows2000 CD-ROM to the internal HDD.

3.Remove the CB31U and start the [WINNT32.EXE] file in the [i386] directory copied from Windows2000

   CD-ROM.

4.When setup starts, you can see two ways to install Windows2000 on the screen:

          -[Upgrade to Windows2000(Recommended)]

          -[Install a new copy of Windows2000(Clean Install)]

 5.Select [Upgrade to Windows2000(Recommended)].

 6.Install Windows 2000, following the instructions.

 7.When you finish installing it,set up the CB31U if you need it.
