Functional Description 

This chapter provides a functional description of the major components and devices on the 
AMC-S402. 

3.1  Overview 

The AMC-S402 contains three major functional blocks. These are: 

1.  The Serial isolation multiplexor (mux) circuit 

2.  The Power Regulator, and the  

3.  The IPMI subsystem (MMC- module management controller) 

The following block diagram illustrates the major components and their circuitry on 
the  AMC-S402.

3.2  AMC-S402, Top Level Board Layout 

The AMC-S402 board layout is depicted in the figure below, and provides 
approximate physical location of major components.
