27.3.2  The Application Patrol Policy Edit Screen 
The Application Policy Edit screen allows you to edit a group of settings for an application. 
To access this screen, go to the application patrol CommonInstant MessengerPeer to 
Peer
VoIP, or Streaming screen and click an application’s Edit icon. Then click the Add 
icon or an Edit icon in the Policy table. The screen displayed here is for the MSN instant 
messenger service.

The following table describes the labels in this screen. 
Log
This field shows whether the ZyWALL generates a log (log), a log and alert (log 
alert
) or neither (no) when the application’s traffic matches this policy.
Add icon
Click the Add icon in the heading row to add a new first entry.
The Active icon displays whether the entry is enabled or not. Click the Active icon 
to activate or deactivate the entry. Make sure you click Apply to save and apply the 
change. 
Click the Edit icon to go to the screen where you can edit the entry.
Click the Add icon in an entry to add a new entry below the current entry.
Click the Remove icon to delete an existing entry from the ZyWALL. A window 
displays asking you to confirm that you want to delete the entry.
To move an entry up or down in the list, click on the Move to N icon next to the 
entry, and type the line number (# field) of where you want to move the entry. The # 
field is updated accordingly. The ordering of the entries is important as they are 
applied in order of their numbering.
OK
Click OK to save your changes back to the ZyWALL.
Cancel
Click Cancel to exit this screen without saving your changes.

Enable Policy
Select this check box to turn on this policy for the application.
Port
Use this field to specify a specific port number to which to apply this policy. Type 
zero, if this policy applies for every port number.
