TAPE Mode
Symptom
Recommended Action
Possible Cause
I cannot
insert a
disc into
the printer.
Printing will
not start.
A tape cartridge is
loaded in the printer.
The disc is not
positioned correctly in
the printer.
A disc cannot be inserted into
the printer while a tape
cartridge is loaded. Remove
the tape cartridge and replace
it with an ink ribbon cassette.

Remove the disc and then re-
insert it straight into the left
side of the slit along the top of
the printer. (Startup Guide,
page 20)
Symptom
The printing
operation is
finished
normally,
but nothing
is printed.
Printing is
not clear.
Printing is
poor
quality.
Printing is
too light.
Recommended Action
Replace the tape cartridge
with a new one.
Re-load the tape cartridge
properly.
Adjust the print density to
make it darker.
Close the cassette cover.

Replace the tape cartridge
with a new one. (Startup

Remove the tape cartridge and
pull out the jammed tape. Use
scissors to cut off the tape you
pulled out. Load the tape
cartridge back into the printer.

Important!
Note the following while
printing is in progress.
• Do not allow the tape outlet
to become blocked.
• Do not touch the tape
coming out of the printer.
• Do not open the cassette
cover.
• Do not turn off the printer.
Possible Cause
The tape is used up.
The tape cartridge is
not loaded properly.
The print density
setting is too light.
The cassette cover is
not closed completely.
The tape is used up.
The tape is jammed.
No tape
comes out
when I
press
PRINT.
