4GB FIBRE CHANNEL ADAPTER SERIES

Our 4Gb/s Fibre Channel adapter series
was devised to fulfill virtually any storage
connection need or environment, whether data
mining, video and media streaming, or high
availability. These adapters were engineered
to deliver unsurpassed performance, high
port density, easy installation and can
accommodate PCI-X host platforms. Each
adapter features full duplex capable FC
ports, that automatically detect connection
speed, and can each independently operate
at 1, 2 or 4Gb/s. The ability to operate at
slower speeds ensures these adapters remain
fully compatible with legacy equipment. All
adapters also support new end-to-end error
detection (CRC) for improved data integrity
when reading or writing disks. The ANSI
T10 committee developed and endorses this
new protection standard.

MyStorage Management Software
MyStorage Management Software is a host
software package designed to simplify
management of LSI Logic Fibre Channel
adapters. New users will appreciate the
simple, three--click installation and its “auto-
everything” intelligence. Advanced users
will find the utility provides all the features
to finetune the adapter operation for
specific applications in even the most

complex SAN environments. MyStorage
software is prefigured with ease of use in
mind, whether you’re deploying a simple
SAN for mid-range applications or a more
complex enterprise data center.

Fustion-MPT Architecture
These Fibre Channel host adapters use 
LSI Logic's powerful FC949X controller,
which implements the Fusion-MPT (Message
Passing Technology) architecture. Each
controller features multiple, embedded ARM

®

processors that deliver maximum host CPU
offload. The built-in intelligence enables 
LSI Logic to publish a single OS driver to
operate any Fusion-MPT controller or
adapter. Fusion-MPT enables LSI Logic to
quickly offer new adapters with a rich
compliment of OS drivers, each with
proven track records and years of
successful run time.
