Symptom Charts/Floppy Drive - 5

 

Audio and video 

present, but internal 

floppy drive does not 

operate                                                                         

1 Replace disk with known-good.

2 Verify that all external SCSI devices 

3 are disconnected.

4 Replace floppy drive cable.

5 Replace floppy drive.

6 Replace logic board. Retain customer’s SIMMs.

7 Replace power supply.

Disk ejects, display 

shows icon with 

blinking “X”

1 Replace disk with known-good system disk.

2 Replace internal floppy drive cable.

3 Replace internal floppy drive.

4 Replace logic board. Retain customer’s SIMMs
