1. This is not a display station failure.

2. Press the Reset key to retry the failed operation.

3. If the symptom persists, notify your supervisor.

The Display/Logic element is failing.

1. Set the Power switch to Off ( O ).

2. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the Display/Logic
    element.

3. Set the Power switch to On ( | ).

4. If “K” still appears, replace the Display/Logic

    element. If  “NK” appears, replace the Keyboard

    element.

1. Set the Power switch to Off ( O ).

2. Ensure that the keyboard cable is tightly connected.

3. Set the Power switch to On ( | ).

4. After ten seconds, if “NK” reappears, replace the
   Keyboard element.

1. Set the printer power switch to On ( | ).

2. If the ready lamp of the printer is on and the printer
   selected, the printer or the printer cable is probably
   failing.

Preventive maintenance for the 1483 is limited to keeping the display station clean and
dust-free. Use a nonabrasive solution (such as alcohol or window cleaner) and a soft,
lint-free cloth to clean the screen. All ventilation ports must be kept free of dirt and dust.
