Spanning Tree Commands
This command is used to configure rstp path cost.
Use the “no” form of this command to reset the external cost to the default.
Syntax
spanning-tree mst 0 external-cost
cost
no spanning-tree mst 0 external-cost

cost — The external cost of the common spanning tree (Range:
0–200000000).
Default Configuration
The default cost is 0, which signifies that the cost is automatically calculated
based on port speed.
Port Channel — 20,000
10 Gbps — 2000
1 Gbps — 20,000
100 Mbps — 200,000
10 Mbps — 2,000,000
Port Channel — 20,000
10 Gbps — 2000
1 Gbps — 20,000
100 Mbps — 200,000
10 Mbps — 2,000,000

Example
The following example configures the spanning-tree mst 0 external-cost at
20000.

spanning-tree mst configuration
Use the spanning-tree mst configuration command in Global Configuration
mode to enable configuring an MST region by entering the multiple
spanning-tree (MST) mode.
