hello padding
Use to turn ON or OFF padding for LAN and point-to-point hello PDUs or to selectively turn padding ON 
or OFF for LAN or point-to-point hello PDUs.
Syntax
hello padding [multi-point | point-to-point]
To return to the default, use the no hello padding [multi-point | point-
to-point] command.
Parameters
multi-point
(OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords multi-point to pad only 
LAN hello PDUs.
point-to-point
(OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords point-to-point to pad 
only point-to-point PDUs.
Defaults
Both LAN and point-to-point hello PDUs are padded.

Usage 
Information
IS-IS hellos are padded to the full maximum transmission unit (MTU) size. Padding 
IS-IS Hellos (IIHS) to the full MTU provides early error detection of large frame 
transmission problems or mismatched MTUs on adjacent interfaces.
