Broadcast Server User Guide
Shared distribution list access
This section allows you to select the shared distribution lists to which the
user may send alerts. Note that these are not all the distribution lists in the
system – only those shared among users at the discretion of the system
administrator. See Distribution List Management for further information
on setting up distribution lists and distribution list sharing.
General user permissions
Privilege
Description
Allowed to send emergency alert If checked, allows the user to send emergency alerts.
Emergency alerts take precedence over all other types of
alerts and cause Broadcast Server to ignore
subscriber-specific settings such as Do-Not-Disturb and
whether the subscriber wishes to receive priority alerts or
not. Most ordinary Broadcast Server users should not have
this privilege assigned to them.
Allowed to send to Everyone
If checked, allows the user to send alerts to every
subscriber in Broadcast Server. Most non-administrative
Broadcast Server users should not have this privilege
assigned to them.
Restrict users to view only their
alerts
If this option is checked, a user will only be able to see
alerts they own – that is, those alerts they originally
created and those created by another user and whose
ownership has been assigned to them by the
administrator. Most ordinary Broadcast Server users
should have this privilege assigned to them.
