Thank you for purchasing a RadioShack Single-Outlet Computer Equipment Surge Protector 
Cube. Your surge protector lets you protect your computer and fax/modem in any location that 
has an AC outlet. It protects your valuable computer equipment from damage caused by 
sudden electrical spikes and surges and ensures the steady performance of connected devices 
by filtering electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. Its small size makes it ideal for 
travel with your notebook computer.

Your surge protector connects your fax, 
modem or other data line to a telephone line. 
When using telephone lines, it is important to 
follow these safety precautions.
• Never install telephone wiring during a 
lightning storm.
• Never install telephone jacks in wet 
locations unless the jack is specifically 
designed for use in wet locations.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires 
or terminals unless the telephone line 
has been disconnected at the network 
interface.
• Use caution when installing or modifying 
telephone lines.

1. Connect one end of a modular telephone 
cord (USOC RJ11C, not supplied) to the 
surge protector's modular

Connect the other end to a standard 
telephone wall jack.
2. Connect one end of another modular 
telephone cord (not supplied) to the 
surge protector's modular

Connect the other end to your fax, 
modem or telephone.
3. Plug the surge protector into a three-
prong standard AC wall outlet.
4. Plug another device, such as a computer 
or notebook power supply, into the surge 
protector’s AC socket as desired.

the AC socket. The connected device is 
protected. 
If either of the indicators do not light, see

Condition
The PROTECTED WHEN LIT indicator does 
not light. 
Solution
The surge protector's AC line is no longer 
protected from surges; replace the surge 
protector. The surge protector may have 
received a power surge or spike beyond its 
specified limits that might overload the 
protection circuitry and make it inactive. If this

Do not use the surge protector with an aquarium 
or near wet locations.

This product is intended for indoor use only.
This surge protector is not a lightning arrestor 
and might not protect against lightning-
induced voltage surges.
Be sure the total wattage of all connected 
devices does not exceed 1875 watts.
Use the surge protector only with a three-
prong standard AC plug. The surge protector 
cannot provide protection without a grounded 
AC source.
Retain Instructions — Retain the safety and 
operating instructions for future reference.
Damage — Unplug the surge protector from 
the wall outlet and replace it:
a. When the power cord or plug is damaged.
b. If liquid has been spilled or objects have 
fallen into the surge protector.
c. If the surge protector has been exposed to 
rain or water.
d. If the surge protector has been dropped or 
damaged in any way.
e. When the PROTECTED WHEN LIT 
indicator goes out.
If the GROUNDED WHEN LIT indicator does 
not light, your surge protector is not 
grounded. You must reconnect it to a different 
grounded, three-prong AC outlet.
Swift Detection and Protection — 
Detects and protects against a 
power surge of up to 6,000 volts 
and 60,000 amps within 1 
nanosecond (1 billionth of a 
second).
Surge Protected AC Outlet — lets 
you protect your valuable computer 
equipment from damage caused by 
sudden electrical spikes and

Surge Protected Modular Phone Jacks (RJ11C)— 
provide protection against surges on the connected fax 
machine or modem.
