Specifications
The three main components of the complete CDP Solution include:
The SonicWALL CDP Appliance sits on the network as the storage and recovery point for all onsite backup

data and as transmission point for all mission-critical offsite data. It is managed by the Enterprise Manager

  and the Agent Tool software.
The SonicWALL CDP Offsite Data Backup Service automatically receives mission critical data from the

appliance and stores the latest version for recovery in a disaster event.
The SonicWALL CDP Bare Metal Recovery Software is installed on each server or workstation to be protected.
The software permits creation of bootable rescue media. A bare metal image may include any combination
of harddisks and partitions. All data on the disk/partition is captured: the OS files, applications and user

settings. To restore a system, simply boot with bootable rescue media and select the image to be restored.
Complete system restoration takes a matter of minutes.
As the third key component, CDP Bare Metal Recovery serves two important functions: (1) disaster recovery of
operating system, applications and system configurations and (2) data archiving.
The Bare Metal Recovery image can be pointed to a network folder marked for automatic hands-free backup by the
CDP appliance and the CDP Offsite Data Backup Service. This is the recommended triangulation of protection
afforded by SonicWALL CDP.
