ADSL IP DSLAM
ADSL IP DSLAM
D-Link IP DSLAM connects to the service provider's public optical network (PON) through their fiber interface,
with support for IP protocol. It delivers high-speed Internet access or voice/video service through ADSL and
Gigabit Ethernet fiber. Multiple ADSL ports with built-in POTS splitters, Ethernet and Gigabit uplinks to the public
optical network are provided.
D-Link IP DSLAM extends the broadband service to the end user where the distance from central office may up to
5 km (ADSL) or 6.1 km (ADSL2+). Line performance offers rates from 32Kbps to 3 Mbps (upstream), and from
32Kbps to 24Mbps (downstream).

ADSL Modem  -  ADSL Router
D-Link ADSL supports the latest ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ standards, providing speeds up to 24Mbps downstream and 3Mbps
upstream. These speeds are suitable for high-speed multimedia Internet applications such as streaming video and IP
phone from homes and offices.
The standard interface on ADSL devices is Ethernet. For on some devices, there are additional USB ports, which offer plug-
and-play connection to computers. USB connections, on the down side, can be a bit heavy on computer resources, a
little slow in latency terms (such as a high ping time), and are dependent on the operating system under which the
computers run.
The ADSL routers come with built-in ADSL interfaces and are primarily designed for several computers at home or in an
office, although they can also be used by a single computer or for connection to other devices such as VoIP gateways.
The routers are independent of computers and work with any operating system including Windows, MacOS, Linux and
Unix. They offer Internet access sharing as a standard feature, and can remain connected to the Internet without having
to turn on the power of the connected computers.
The ADSL wireless routers integrate WLAN for users wishing to connect to the Internet from a Wi-Fi network. Priority queues
are provided for groups of users to smoothly transfer voice packets, music and video images over the ADSL line. Basic
firewall functions, including Internet DoS attack protection, Stateful Packet Inspection, user access security, and parental
control through web site/domain name blocking, are provided. For the office, the ADSL VPN routers offer hardware-
based data encryption via embedded 3DES accelerators, providing users with secure data transfer over the Internet.
