Chapter 4  SelfCalibration
This product is equipped with an built-in calibration sensor. This function allows you to set the calibration 
targets or schedule in advance, and automatically execute regular calibration. Calibration can be executed 
independently by the monitor.
Attention
•  To execute SelfCalibration, it is necessary to set the calibration targets etc. 
•  For more information, refer to 
NOTE
•  Use SelfCalibration as support for monitor calibration with ColorNavigator.
•  When matching the measurement results of the built-in sensor with the measurement results from a measurement 
device, use the Correlation Utility included with ColorNavigator. Refer to the ColorNavigator User's Manual on 
the CD-ROM.
•  SelfCalibration can also be executed when there are no computer signals being input.
4-1. Executing SelfCalibration [Calibration]
Procedure
1.  Press

The SelfCalibration menu appears.
2.  Choose <Calibration> from the SelfCalibration menu, and press 
.
3.  Select “Execute” with

The built-in sensor is activated, and SelfCalibration is executed.
Attention
•  To execute SelfCalibration, it is necessary to select CAL mode.
•  After selecting execute, aging may be executed before the built-in sensor is activated. 
4-2. Checking Calibration Results [Result]
The previous calibration results can be checked.
Procedure
1.  Choose <Result> from the SelfCalibration menu, and press 
.
2.  Select the mode you want to check the results for with 
 or 
.
The Result menu appears.
The date and time the last SelfCalibration was executed, and the total monitor usage time from the 
previous calibration are displayed.
3.  Select “Calibration Result” or “Ambient Light” with 
 or 
.
The previous calibration results are displayed. 
Attention
•  The measurement results of the ambient light sensor are used to check the difference between the current 
environmental light level and the level of ambient light when calibration was executed, and are not reflected in the 
calibration results.
NOTE
•  If <Ambient Light> is selected, the current environmental light is also displayed.
•  Numerical values that do not reach the target values are displayed in yellow. 
•  If the environment in which the product is used is significantly different to the previous environment, the ambient 
light measurement results may differ greatly between the previous calibrations and current calibrations.
