Note: As soon as the controls are set, the motor driven lock
will begin to close automatically and the “LOCK” indicator
light will flash. DO NOT open the oven door while the light
is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the oven door to
lock).
When the self-clean cycle has completed:
1. The time of day will appear in the display window and
the “Clean” and "LOCK" light will continue to glow.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and
the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be
opened.
3. A moist cloth is the best way to wipe out the remaining
ash from the oven.
Stopping or interrupting a self-clean cycle
If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a self-
cleaning cycle once it has been activated:
1. Press “Clean/Off”.
2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and
the "LOCK" light has turned off, the oven door can be
opened.
3. Restart the Self-Clean cycle once all conditions have
been corrected.
Note:
Whenever the self-clean feature is active you may
check the amount of time remaining in the self-clean
cycle by pressing the “Self Clean”  pad. Remember the
range door cannot be opened until the range has
cooled sufficiently. You will need to add about 1 hour to
the time displayed before you can use the range for
cooking.
When the oven is cool, wipe away any residue or
powdered ash with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Avoid These Cleaners
Do not use commercial oven cleaners such as Easy Off®.
They may damage the oven finish or parts.
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
Cleaning Guide
CAUTION:
To avoid possible burns use care when
opening the oven door after the self-
cleaning cycle. Stand to the side of the
oven
when opening the door to allow hot
air or steam to escape.
DO NOT force the oven door open. This
can damage the automatic door locking
system. Use caution and avoid possible
burns when opening the door after the
self-cleaning cycle has completed. The
oven may still be VERY HOT.
Part
Recommendations
Oven Rack
Wash with hot soapy water. Rinse
thoroughly and dry, or gently rub
with cleansing powder or soap-filled
pads as directed. DO NOT clean the
rack in the self-cleaning oven.
If the racks are cleaned in the oven
during the self clean mode, they will
loose their shiny finish and may not
glide smoothly. If this happens, wipe
the rack edges with a small amount
of vegetable oil. Then wipe off
excess.
Fiberglass
Gasket
DO NOT CLEAN GASKET.
Glass
Wash with soap and water or glass
cleaner. Use Fantastik® or Formula
409® to remove grease spatters and
stubborn stains.
Painted
Surfaces
Clean with hot soapy water or apply
Fantastik® or Formula 409® to a
clean sponge or paper towel and
wipe clean. Avoid using powder
cleaning agents, steel wool pads
and oven cleaners.
Porcelain
Surfaces
Immediately wipe up acid spills like
fruit juice, milk and tomatoes with a
dry cloth. Do not use a moistened
sponge/cloth on hot porcelain. When
cool, clean with hot soapy water or
apply Bon-Ami® or Soft Scrub® to a
damp sponge. Rinse and dry. For
stubborn stains, use soap-filled
pads. It is normal for porcelain to
show fine lines with age due to
exposure to heat and food soil.
