OWL Mounting Instructions

1)
The owl shoes can be attached to any convenient flat surface.
They can be permanently attached with screws or temporarily attached
with 3M Command Adhesive tape. (See 3M instructions on tape
package). To mount an OWL with its shoe, the signal wire must first be
dropped through the large circular hole in the top left of the shoe or
through the slot in the bottom left so that it exits the back. Use the
circular top left hole if the wire will be passed through the top, left or
right side of the shoe. Use the bottom slot if the wire is to exit the mouse
hole in the bottom of the shoe. Align the wire with one of the exit holes
on the sides, top, or bottom of the shoe and make sure the wire does not
bind between the shoe and wall. When properly routed, the wire should
pull through the shoe when held up to the wall. It is a good idea to test
this a few times before permanently mounting the shoe.

2)
After the wire is dropped through the shoe, insert the top of the
OWL (the side with air vents) under the spring clips and mate the shoe-
tongue into the back of the OWL. Slight pressure upward from the base
of the OWL will allow the bottom of the OWL to snap into the shoe. The
end result should fit flush against the wall and no one will know it is
removable. To remove, push upward again and pull the base of the OWL
outward from the shoe at the same time.

3)
With a little practice OWL mountings can be made with ease.
There is also a Flash demo on our web site showing some of the
procedures discussed here.

4)
Locate the WAS-PDX amplifier in a safe and convenient
location. CAUTION: Do not mount the WAS-PDX amplifier to anything
that would be adversely affected by heat. The black plate on the bottom
of the amplifier is a heat sink and can reach 110 degrees F if played
loudly over long periods of time.
