OmniSwitch CLI Reference Guide

Configures an expiration date for all user passwords stored locally on the switch or disables password 
expiration.

user password-expiration {day | disable}

The number of days before locally configured user passwords will 
expire. The range is 1 to 150 days.

Disables password expiration for users configured locally on the switch.

OmniSwitch 6400, 6850, 6855, 9000, 9000E

• The user password-expiration command sets a default password expiration for users configured 

locally on the switch.

• Password expiration may be configured on a per-user basis through the 

 command; the user setting 

overrides the user password-expiration setting until the user password is changed or the user 
password-expiration command is entered again.

Release 6.1; command was introduced.

day | disable

Configures entries in the local user database. May be used by a system 
administrator to change any user’s password in addition to configuring 
user privileges or profile.

Displays the expiration date for passwords configured for user accounts 
stored on the switch.

Displays the global password policy configuration for the switch.
