Direct Encoding

Using Navigation Mode 
Connect the auxiliary device’s output (or Line Out jack) 
and USB Cable to the USB port.

Press the 
REC button in the external input mode, 
and play back the external sound device. (Refer 
to page 34, Switching Mode)

Encoding will begin.
  Press the   button tol pause encoding. Press the   button to resume encoding.

Press the 
REC button to stop encoding.

Note 
 
  The files will be encoded in order of LINE001, LINE002, etc. The files will be stored in the RECORD 
folder as WMA files.
  If there isn’t sufficient memory space while encoding, encoding will stop automatically.
  The encoding will stop if the Line In cable is disconnected while recording.
  Encoding will not work if there aren’t sufficient battery remaining.
  Be sure to set the auxiliary device’s volume in an appropriate level before encoding. Too high or low 
volume may result in poor audio quality.
The Navigation Mode allows you to find the file or switch modes easily.
Press the lever during playback or in pause to enter Navigation Mode.
  A file list will appear on the LCD screen.

Select the file or folder to play.
 
Entering a folder: After selecting the folder, press or push the lever in   direction.

Leaving a folder: Push the lever in   direction.

Press the 
FUNC button or push the lever in + / - directions to select Play Now and then, press the lever 
or push the   button to play the file.
  Press the   button or press the lever to play the selected file without using the pop up menu.

Note 
 
  Push the lever toward   direction to exit the Navigation Mode.
  You can play the music, voice recording, photo or movie files using the navigation mode.
