Powering down the computer

When you power down the computer, you have three options
to choose from: Turn Off (or Shut Down) Computer, Standby,
and Hibernation.

Using Turn Off Computer or Shut Down
For the Windows
XP Professional operating system, follow
these steps to shut down the computer:

Click the Start button, then Shut down.
The Shut Down Windows dialog box appears.

Select Shut down from the drop-down list.

Click OK.
The computer shuts down completely.
