General Warranty Terms
Toshiba notebooks  are covered by a 1 year international
carry-in warranty valid from the date of purchase. 
This warranty covers defects caused by malfunction of
components and workmanship which occur during 
normal use within the warranty period. It covers the
costs of service parts and labour required to restore the
product to full working order.
Not covered are defects caused by external force, abuse
or incorrectly connected external devices, or any damage
caused through the intervention of persons not authorised
by Toshiba to carry out warranty repairs.
Costs such as communication costs, duties, packing,
shipping and restoration of any kind of software or data
are not covered.
Toshiba strongly recommends that you regularly create a
back-up of any important data stored on your PC. In the
event that your notebook needs servicing, Toshiba may
need to delete all data from the unit.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights,
namely applicable consumer law.

Definitions of Terms
‘Application software’ - A software program that 
carries out some useful task. Database managers,
spreadsheets, communications packages, graphics 
programs and word processors are all applications.
‘Carry-in’ - Where the faulty notebook is returned to a
Toshiba Authorised Reseller or Toshiba Authorised 
Service Provider at the customer’s risk and expenses.

Carry-in warranty” below.. 
‘Operating system’ - The master control program that
runs the notebook. It is the first program loaded when
the device is switched on. 
‘Option’ - A piece of equipment, which is not an integral
part of the main system unit.
‘Pick-up & Return’ - The notebook will be collected
from an agreed location, repaired and returned to the
customer at the earliest opportunity within the country
of purchase.
‘Support’ - Assistance with a user problem, which is not
a hardware or software failure.
