New Community
, enter the new community information:
a
A unique name in the 
Name
 field, the field holds up to 20 characters 
(a-z, A-Z), no special characters or blank spaces are allowed
b
IP address in the 
IP Address
 field, if the value in the Network Mask 
edit box ends in a zero, the value in the IP address edit box must also 
end in a zero

Subnet mask in the 
Network Mask 
field

Access rights for the new community:

Results
 page displays indicating the community has been added.

Click Send from the SNMP tab to send a test SNMP trap. Verify that the 
SNMP trap was received by the specified destination system.
Caution:
If no communities are defined, the DX-Series system is 
universally accessible through a “public” community 
(read-only).
Note:
A single community with an IP address or network mask set to 
0.0.0.0,
 or left blank, indicates that IP-address-based access 
control is disabled.
