AE SHIFT
When you set [AE SHIFT] to [ON], you 
can adjust the exposure using 
(dark)/
(bright). 
 and the setting value 
appear when [AE SHIFT] is set to [ON].
•  You cannot use [AE SHIFT] when 
[EXPOSURE] is set to [MANUAL].
•  You can also adjust the setting manually using 
the CAM CTRL dial (p. 61).
CAMERA COLOR
You can adjust the color intensity with

WB SHIFT (White Balance Shift)
When you set [WB SHIFT] to [ON], you 
can adjust the white balance to the desired 
setting using

 and the setting value are displayed 
when [WB SHIFT] is set to [ON].
•  When the white balance is set to a lower value, 
pictures appear bluish, and when set to a higher 
value, pictures appear reddish.
•  You can also adjust the setting manually using 
the CAM CTRL dial (p. 61).
SPOT FOCUS
You can select and adjust the focal point to 
aim it at a subject not located in the center 
of the screen.

  Touch the subject on the screen.

•  If you set [SPOT FOCUS], [FOCUS] is 
automatically set to [MANUAL].
FOCUS
You can adjust the focus manually. Select 
this when you want to focus on a certain 
subject intentionally.

To adjust the focus automatically, touch

•  It is easier to focus on the subject by moving 
the power zoom lever towards T (telephoto) to 
adjust the focus, then towards W (wide angle) 
to adjust the zoom for recording. When you 
want to record a subject at close range, move 
the power zoom lever to W (wide angle), then 
adjust the focus.
•  The minimum distance required between your 
camcorder and the subject to get a sharp focus 
is about 1 cm (about 1/2 in.) for wide angle and 
about 80 cm (about 2 5/8 feet) for telephoto.
•  You can also adjust the focus manually using 
the CAM CTRL dial (p. 61).
EXP.FOCUS (Expanded focus)
When you set the POWER switch to 
CAMERA-MEMORY and [EXP.FOCUS] 
to [ON], you can enlarge the picture 
displayed on the LCD screen to 2 times 
bigger. This function makes it easier 
to adjust the focus. While displaying 
the enlarged picture, instead of the 
 
indicator in normal [FOCUS] setting, the 
 indicator appears.
