RW-12
The RW-12 powered subwoofer approaches
the capabilities of our high-end RSW models
at a lower price. Key to its performance and
versatility is Klipsch Corner Port™ technology,
which enables the subwoofer to deliver strong,
clean bass from a relatively compact enclosure
and with a minimum of design complexity.
And because both the driver and the port are
at the front of the cabinet, the RW-12 can be
placed back against a wall, deep into a corner,
or even in custom cabinetry. The result is a
high-value, installation-friendly design that
brings stunning depth, realism, and emotional
impact to any music or home theater system.
It can be used to fill in and reinforce the bottom
end of full-range speakers or to provide all of
the bass in a system built around small satellite
speakers, such as the Klipsch Reference
Satellites.
The RW-12 has a 12-inch Cerametallic™ cone
driver with a massive motor structure and
large, high-temperature voice coil, enabling it
to deliver rich, clean, room-rumbling bass all
the way down to 20 Hz. It is powered by a
high-efficiency BASH
®
amplifier, capable of 825
watts of dynamic output power.
The RW-12's low-pass crossover has a steep
24dB/octave slope and is outfitted with
continuously variable frequency and phase
controls, facilitating smooth integration with
the main speakers. Input is via line-level RCA
jacks or speaker-level binding posts.
Alternatively, a single direct-input RCA jack
allows connection straight through to the
subwoofer amplifier, for use with the crossover
built into an A/V preamp or receiver. The RW-
12’s level control is mounted on the side of the
cabinet for easy access, and an “auto power”
feature enables the subwoofers to turn on and
off automatically. The cabinet comes with a
durable, attractive Black Ash or Light Cherry
woodgrain vinyl finish.

Dynamic power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the
woofer under normal operating conditions. While the FTC power rating
indicates power available on a continuous, long-term basis, subwoofers do
not rely on that type of power. Instead, the amplifier is called upon to
deliver large, short-term peaks of power to be able to support the wide
dynamics required by today’s digital music and movie formats. In addition
to the required FTC power rating, we’ve provided the dynamic power
rating as a better indication of the product’s true performance.
