The following sections briefly describe how to change the main settings of your
notebook computer. Between other things, you will learn how to prepare your modem
for use, how to use and customize the look of your Sony software and utilities, and you

Configuring the modem for use
Before you can start using your internal modem*, or each time you use your modem
while travelling, make sure that the country selector is set to the country you are
dialing from. The country selector configures the modem to the local public phone line
network it is connecting to when communicating.
