This example shows you how to connect a TiVo Series2 DVR to a network
hub using a wired (Ethernet) network adapter. You can leave your DVR
plugged in while you connect a network adapter.

To connect a wired (Ethernet) network adapter to your TiVo Series2 DVR
and your network hub, follow these steps:

1. Connect to the DVR. Connect the USB end of the Ethernet adapter to the
USB port on the TiVo Series2 DVR.
2. Connect Ethernet to the adapter. Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into
the Ethernet adapter.
3. Connect Ethernet to the hub router. Plug the other end of the Ethernet
cable into your home network’s hub or router.
4. Important message. The first time you connect a network adapter, you
will see an Important Message the next time you press the TiVo button.

5. Next Step. If your home network has DHCP, and you do not have a
DHCP Client ID, the DVR will automatically complete network setup.
