K2714 Keyboard Magnetic Stripe Reader Setup Manual

The K2714 keyboard is a standard 104/105-key keyboard for IBM compatible PC's. It is integrated
with a dual track I & II magnetic stripe reader (MSR) for various applications. In order to program
the MSR output format to your computer, you may use the embedded programming feature
provided by the keyboard. The next paragraph will describe how to program and configure the
MSR output.

Embedded Programming

Open the Windows’s Notepad provided by the operating system or any other word processing
software. Select the feature that you want to change.  You activate the setup by holding down both
Shift” keys on your keyboard.  It will display the main setup menu on the screen.  The setup
process must be activated within 20 keystrokes after the system is turned on, otherwise it will go
back to default and show a blank screen. In this case you start the process over. Unplugging the
keyboard will reset the counter.  Again, hold down both "Shift" keys.

Simply program the keyboard by following the instructions on the screen.  Please remember to use
numeric keys (0 to 9) on the top of the alphabetic keys selecting the option.
