Installation and Operation Instructions
General Description
The IC-2B is a two-channel, binaural headset station designed for
use in balanced Audiocom™ intercom systems. It is connected to
the intercom system by means of a quick-disconnecting cable
terminated with XLR-6 connectors (not supplied), and it receives
operating power from thei ntercom system via the cable.
Installation
Plug a 6-pin cable into either intercom cable connector on the
bottom of the belt-pack and into the master staion or power
supply. An additional cable may be plugged inot the remaining
cable connector to extend the intercom system to another station.
Operation
1.
Plug a stereo or monaural, dynamic-microphone headset into
the front panel dynamic-mic headset connector, or plug a
monaural, carbom-mic headset into the rear panel CARBON
HEADSET connector.
2.
Adjust the listening levels for the two channels with the
headphone VOLUME controls.
3.
To talk, set the master MIC switch to the ON position, and
then select one or both channesl by depressing the CHAN-
NEL select push buttons.
4.
The MONO/STEREO select switch works in two ways:
When using a stereo headset: Set the
switch to the STEREO position to monitor
channel 1 in the left headphone and
channel 2 in the right. Set the switch to
MONO position to listen to a monaural
mix of both channels in both headphones.
When using a monaural headset, the switch
must be set to the MONO position to hear
both intercom channels as a monaural mix.
If the STEREO position is selected, only
channel 1 will be heard.
Sidetone Level Adjustment
The SIDETONE ADJ level trimmers control the level of your
own voice in the headphoens. A level trimmer is provided for
each channel. If your voice seems too loud or soft when
speaking, adjust the trimmers, as desired.
Permanent Mounting
Permanent mounting may be accomplised by removing the belt
clip and utilizing the threaded belt clip mounting holes to secure
the belt-pack to other equipment. These holes accept No. 6-32
machine screws. Screws may extend no more than 3/16-inch into
the belt-pack.
