NightShot
The NightShot function lets you shoot 
subjects in dark places such as camp scenes 
at night or nocturnal plants and animals.

Set the mode dial to 
 or

Set NIGHTSHOT/
NIGHTFRAMING switch to 
NIGHTSHOT.
The 
 and “NIGHT SHOT” 
indicators light. The “NIGHT SHOT” 
indicator turns off after 5 seconds.

Shoot the image.
To cancel the NightShot function
Set NIGHTSHOT/NIGHTFRAMING 
switch to z.
While using the NightShot function, you cannot 
use the following functions:
– White balance
– Switching the metering mode
– AE LOCK
– Shooting with hologram AF
– Shooting with the flash
Do not use the NightShot function in bright 
places (e.g. outdoors in the daytime). This may 
cause your camera to malfunction.
Images do not appear with the correct colors 
while shooting with the NightShot function.
If focusing is difficult with the auto focus mode 
when using the NightShot function, adjust 
focus manually (page 48). The focus distance 
value does not appear.
If you press an invalid key while using the 
NightShot function, the 
 indicator flashes, 
and the “NIGHT SHOT” indicator lights for 
about 5 seconds.
However, if you select the flash mode in 
Bracket, Multi Burst or BURST 3 mode, the 
BRK/
/
 indicator flashes.
NightFraming
The NightFraming function enables you to 
check a subject even at night and then 
record with natural colors using the flash.

Set the mode dial to 
 or 
 (Clip Motion).

Set NIGHTSHOT/
NIGHTFRAMING switch to 
NIGHTFRAMING.
The 
 and “NIGHT FRAMING” 
indicators light. The “NIGHT 
FRAMING” indicator turns off after 
about 5 seconds.

Press and hold the shutter 
button halfway down.
The hologram AF light (page 27) i
emitted and the focus is automatically 
adjusted.
d
Press the shutter button fully 
down.
The shutter sounds, the flash strobes 
and the image is recorded.
