Glossary
job
The collection of data that goes into printing. A job begins with a start command at the
beginning of the first page of a document and ends with an end command on the last
page. Once a job has started, no other job can be executed until it is complete.
job timeout
A feature that terminates a job if nothing is received by the printer for a specified length
of time. For example, if a job is suspended before it is completed and the printer does
not receive the printer end command, the printer will terminate the job automatically
to free the printer for the next job.
kilobyte
1,024 bytes of information or storage space. The kilobyte is often rounded to an even
1,000 and is abbreviated in this documentation as KB.

macro
A file holding commands to perform a task. A macro saved as a start-up macro can be
executed from the printer control panel.
megabyte
1,024 kilobytes (1,048,576 bytes) of information or storage space. Abbreviated as MB
in this manual.
