Azur 640T digital DAB/FM radio
Continuing the high-quality design and build found
throughout the entire Azur range, the 640T incorporates
an array of state-of-the-art technologies and
innovations.
Forming the very heart of the unit is the latest highly
integrated DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) chipset
from Texas Instruments coupled to a high-performance
Wolfson WM8716 24-bit/192kHz digital to analogue
converter. The 640T fluently conveys both digital and
FM radio broadcasts with superb clarity and passion.
Cambridge Audio's unique Natural Contour
TechnologyTM (NCT) domain compensation system
enables easy and subtle adjustment of a radio
broadcast's timbre, via a control on the 640T's rear
panel. The 'Warm' setting balances out heavily digital
sounding broadcasts by intensifying weight and warmth,
while the 'Lively' setting breathes life into compressed,
mechanical transmissions.
The gleaming aluminium front panel boasts a clear
informative LCD display. This provides information
on radio station, artist, track and can even display lyrics
when broadcast.
