Explanation of Controls 
 
Ringer Volume – Adjusts ringer volume to LOW or HI.  Located on 
 
the left side of the phone near the dataport. 
 
Hearing-aid Compatible Handset 
 
Handset Jack
 – Modular jack to connect coiled handset cord from 
handset to base unit. 
 
Lighted Keypad –  0 – 9, Flash, Redial, and Hold.  Illuminated for low 
light conditions. 
 
VOL
 switch – Volume control switch on the handset steps through the 
three available handset volume levels [Normal – Medium – High]. 
 
FLASH key - provides a 600mS (0.6 seconds) flash time. 
 
HOLD key - for “local hold”. 
 
REDIAL key - Automatically hangs up for 1 second before redialing for 
convenient “one touch” redialing to busy numbers. 
 
 
 
Using the 205T
 
telephone: 
 
To place a call:  Lift the handset, then dial the number desired. 
 
To answer a call:  Lift the handset. 
 
Placing a call on Hold: During a call, place the caller on hold by 
pressing the [HOLD] key. Then replace the handset in its cradle. 
 
Retrieving a held call:  Lift the handset.   
 
 
 
 
 
Other feature keys: 
 
FLASH - is used to access PBX system features, like “system hold,” 
“transfer/conference,” or “call park.”  Pressing [FLASH] has the same 
effect as “tapping” the hookswitch.  The standard flash time is 600msec 
(0.6 seconds).  
 
 
REDIAL - redials the last number dialed
,
 up to 16 digits total.  It is not 
necessary to hang up first before pressing [REDIAL], as pressing 
[REDIAL] automatically hangs up for one second before redialing 
begins. 
 
 
Adjusting Handset Volume 
 
Press the [VOL] key.  Each press of [VOL] moves to the next of three 
possible settings of  [Low – Medium – High], and repeats back to Low 
volume on the forth press.  Adjust as desired.   
 
 
 
Adjusting Ringer Volume 
 
The ringer volume control switch is located on the left side of the 
telephone.  There are two ringer volume settings, high and low.  Adjust 
as desired.
