Performing the Power-on Test
The power-on test is a quick self-checking
mechanism that the scanner carries out after you
turn it’s power on. This is what happens after the
scanner is turned on:
1. POWER indicator (green LED) on the front
panel of the scanner lights up.
2. The two READY indicators (orange LED)
beside the POWER indicator will start flashing
briefly. After a 30-second warm-up period, the
scanner carries out a self-test, with the scanner
carriage slowly moving back and forth at half
an inch distance. If self-test is passed, the two
READY indicators stay lit.
Note:  If POWER and READY indicators are
malfunction, call Technical Support for help.
3. At this time, the scanning lamp inside the
scanner should stay lit as well. The lamp only
goes off if the scanner is left on for more then 2
hours and is not used.
Note:  If the scanner lamp doesn't come on, starts
to flicker, or gets dim, call for help.
