118814-D Rev. 00
17-5
 Parameter:
Remote Name
 Default:
(Blank)
 Options:
A valid name for this path
 Function:
This field is an identifying name for the path. Usually it
describes the destination of the path.
 Instructions:
Enter a name into this field. In
, the name
Central is used as an example only.
 Parameter:
Autolearn IP Address
 Default:
Disabled
 Options:
Disabled, Enabled
 Function:
Enables the autolearning of IP addresses.
 Instructions:
If you are setting this path up for outgoing NAT
connections, it is recommended that you enable this
option.
Once it is enabled, the two options become available;
these are as follows:
By IPCP and/or DHCP
DHCP only
Selecting By IPCP and/or DHCP (the default) means
that the IP address is learned using Internet Protocol
Control Packet (IPCP) and/or Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP). This option is useful if
you are unsure as to which protocol is used to assign the
IP address, or if you use IPCP to assign IP addresses.
Selecting DHCP only means that only DHCP is used to
assign IP addresses.
