Playing a Tape
Variable Speed Using the SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR
The SHUTTLE DIAL lets you search a picture during playback at variable speeds
in both forward and reverse. Sound is turned off during picture search. The
picture is best for tapes recorded in the SP or SLP speed.

1. Turn the SHUTTLE DIAL on the VCR while in Play or Still mode to start a
forward or reverse search.

The more you turn the dial, the faster the search speed.

When the
SHUTTLE DIAL
on the VCR is turned more than half way in stop
mode, normal Fast Forward or Rewind begins.
■
Some noise bars are normal during shuttle operation.
■
After 3 minutes in Still or Slow, the VCR will go into Stop mode.
2. Press PLAY or PAUSE to return to normal playback and turn off the
shuttle feature.

During playback, the JOG SHUTTLE button and the left (

center of the arrows lights, and the VCR enters pause.

6 on the remote to search forward slowly. Press

6 to search faster.

5 on the remote to search in reverse slowly.
Press and hold
5 to search faster.

Press
4 or 3 on the remote while VCR is searching to place the VCR in
pause. Press
4 to advance or 3 to reverse the picture one frame at a time.
2. Press PLAY or PAUSE to return to normal playback and turn off the jog
shuttle feature.
Pressing a button other than a
JOG SHUTTLE
button, except
TRACKING UP
