Within this manual, several words and expressions used

have special meanings, some of which may be unfamiliar to

you. This glossary provides an explanation of these words

and expressions.

The program adapting your M90 Portable Data Entry

(PDE) unit to your specific application.

The procedure which resets or restarts the M90. All data in

the RAM or the RAM disc will be deleted.

A field is one piece of information, such as a name, date,

quantity, article number.

The computer to which you want to transfer your data,

after you have input the data to the M90.

A special cable or adapter to connect two items of Data

Terminal Equipment (DTE). The signal lines are crossed.

A prompt is a displayed character (usually a line) that

instructs you to enter a character in that position.

A memory which loses its contents when it has no power.
