Connecting the Imager in Keyboard Wedge Mode
You can connect an imager between the keyboard and PC as a “keyboard wedge,”
plugged into the serial port, or connected to a portable data terminal in non-decoded
output mode.

The 147X imagers are factory defaulted to a serial RS-232 interface. For help
connecting the imager to a serial port, see “Connecting the Imager to a Serial Port” later
in this chapter.

To connect for a keyboard wedge interface
1. Turn off power to the terminal/computer.
2. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the back of the terminal/computer.
