The indentation between the FLASH button and the REDIAL button is the microphone. 

Along the sides of the cordless handset are two indentations, which are parallel to the small ridge below the earpiece, 

that secure the belt clip. The belt clip is a T-shaped plastic piece with two curved arms and one long arm. The belt 

clip snaps into place with the small ridges on the curved arms locking into each of the indentations on the side of the 

cordless handset. 

 

Further down the left side of the cordless handset, to the upper left of the TALK button, is the headset jack covered 

with a little round rubber cap. This cap can be opened from front to back, and is not removable. 

 

The 2 metal ridges at the bottom of the sides of the cordless handset are the charge contacts. 

 

The battery compartment is on the back of the cordless handset (behind the keypad). Its upper edge is parallel to the 

TALK button and the OFF button. The battery door can be opened by inserting a flat metal object in the slot on the 

bottom of the cordless handset and pushing forward to release the lock. 

 

Base unit 

 

With the base unit facing you, the antennas are on the left and right sides of the base unit and they should be 

positioned pointing upward. 

 

On the left side of the base unit, the corded handset is placed on the cradle. 

 

Immediately below the corded handset is a large rectangular textured area. This is the speakerphone. 

 

To the right of the cradle, on the top of the base unit is a smooth rectangular area. This is the display. Below the 

display is a long button. This is the VOICE MAIL button with an indicator to the left. Below this button are four 

round buttons. The left-most one is the FUNCTION button. The FUNCTION button is also the EDIT button. 

Immediately to the right is the CLEAR button. To the right of the CLEAR button are two round buttons with a 

clipped edge. The left smaller one is the EXIT button. The right larger one is the NAVIGATOR KEY, which is a 

large circular control with concave and four active areas. The active areas are at the 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 

and 9 o’clock positions. The 12 and 6 o’clock positions are the UP and DOWN keys and also control volume up and
