Phaser 300X Color Printer
Printing and installation
The image does not finish printing (the printer times out). 
 
For PC users
If you are using the serial or parallel port from a PC, use the 
MODE
 command to set the PC’s communication parameters.  For 
example:
MODE LPT1:,,P > NUL
MODE COM1:9600,N,8,1,P
For Windows users
Open the Control Panel.  Double-click the Printers icon.  Choose 
your Tektronix printer.  Click on the Connect button.  Change the 
Device Not Selected
 timeout to 60.  Change the Transmission 
Retry
 to 850.  Place a check mark in the box FAST Printing Direct 
to Port
.  Turn the Print Manager off.
Which port is faster, parallel or serial? 
 If you have a PC, you may want to use 
the parallel port because it is faster than the serial port.
Getting the largest printed picture. 
 
The area of paper that the printer prints on 
is smaller than the paper size.  See “Margins and image area” on page 3-28 
for more details.  You may have to adjust the margins in your application 
software.  To print the largest image possible on 300 x 450 mm (12 x 18 in.) 
paper, the printer should have at least 14 Mbytes of memory.  
You have a Macintosh and the printed image has shifted or the margins are not 
correct.

Phaser 300X printer driver onto your Macintosh in order to select the correct 
page sizes from the driver.  Refer to the Phaser 300X Drivers and Utilities
