Searching and doing things by voice
To search the web by voice

Press & hold the Search button 
OR
Press the Search button 
 and touch the Microphone icon 
 in 
the Google search box.

Speak the words that you want to search for.
When you’re finished speaking, Google search by voice analyzes 
your speech and displays the results of your search.
If Google search by voice misunderstood you, the search box 
presents a list of similar-sounding search terms.
To perform other things by voice
Voice Actions from Google lets you control your phone using your 
voice and complete common tasks such as calling contacts and 
businesses, sending messages, browsing the web, and listening to 
music.

Speak the words that you want to do. Here are some examples of 
voice actions that you can do:

Call a contact: Say “Call,” followed by a name from your con-
tacts, followed by the kind of phone number (“mobile,” “work,” 
and so on)—for example, “Call Mike LeBeau home.” If there is a 
single match, the number is dialed automatically. See “Dialing 
by voice” on page 90.

Send a text message: Say "Send text to Mike Wilson, stuck in 
traffic, be there soon."

Send an email: Say "Send email to Dave Smith, subject: meeting 
later, message: which restaurant?"
