MEMORY OPERATION
Alphanumeric display
Each memory channel and the call channel can be pro-
grammed with an alphanumeric name such as a repeater
name, club name, etc., for easy recognition. Names can be
a maximum of 6 characters—see the table below for avail-
able characters.
NOTE: Scan edge channels and scratch pad memories
CANNOT be programmed with alphanumeric names.
Push [M/CALL] to select memory mode (or call mode) if
necessary.
Rotate the tuning dial to select the desired memory chan-
nel.

ANM] for 2 sec. to select alphanumeric indi-
cation.
• “NONAME” appears when a name has not yet been programmed
into the channel.
Push [SET] to enter programming mode.
• The first character of the name flashes.
Rotate the tuning dial to select the desired character.
• See the table at left for a list of available characters.
Push [SET] to advance to the next character.
• Push [MONI] to select the previous character.
Push [V/MHz] to program the name and exit programming
mode.

ANM] for 2 sec. to return to frequency indica-
tion if desired.
