Thanks for buying JBL’s
WRKW1000
wireless
speakers.
Your WRKW1000 is essentially your own radio
station and receiver. Its operation is bound by
the same limitations as any radio reception. For
example, other equipment that may emit radio
frequencies such as computers and cordless
telephones may affect your WRKW1000’s
operation. In such cases, increasing the distance
between your WRKW1000’s transmitter or
receiver and this other equipment will reduce or
eliminate interference and improve performance.
Metal surfaces may also limit or impede
transmission of radio frequencies. Keeping your
WRKW1000’s components from metallic sur-
faces will ensure the best possible performance.
Do not set up your WRKW1000 transmitter or
receiver on top of a metallic surface (such as the
top of some audio equipment). Buildings with
metal structures may also reduce your
WRKW1000’s operating range.
Setting up your wireless system.
Getting the WRKW1000 up and running is
simple! Just follow these instructions:
One male-to-male stereo RCA cable
Two AC adapters for the speakers
Make sure that all of the following items were packed with your WRKW1000 system:
Use this system and listen to
high-quality music wherever you are,
without complicated wires or hookup.
On the porch, by the pool, in the garage,
in your bedroom, in your home theater...
the possibilities are endless!
Connect the transmitter to
your audio system.
1. Take the smallest of the three AC adapters
and plug it into the DC IN jack on the rear
of the transmitter.
2. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.
3. Using the supplied RCA cable, connect the
left and right inputs of the transmitter to the
left and right outputs of your sound source.
A sound source is the equipment from
which you wish to transmit audio. This source
needs to be connected to the WRKW1000
transmitter. If the WRKW1000 speakers are
in a different room than the transmitter or if
the WRKW1000 speakers will be the only
ones used with your selected source, it is sug-
gested that you use the “tape monitor” or
“tape out” or other fixed-level output. A fixed-
level output’s volume does not vary with the
volume control setting. After completing
setup, you can check for having selected a
fixed-level output by confirming that the
WRKW1000’s volume does not change
along with changes to the volume control
on your audio source connected to the
WRKW1000. If the WRKW1000 is used
along with other speakers simultaneously
and in the same room (such as using the
WRKW1000 as the rear “surround” speaker
in a home theater system), or if you wish to
use the volume control of one audio source
(such as TV), a variable audio pre-amp signal
should be connected to the transmitter. This
type of output level is adjustable through the
volume control on your TV or other source. In
this case, turn up your TV or other source’s
volume as high as you would for normal lis-
tening before proceeding to the next stage. In
the event that your sound source has a single
stereo minijack output instead of a pair of
RCA jacks, purchase a stereo miniplug-to-
male stereo RCA cable from your JBL dealer
or electronics store.
Note: At this time the Frequency Selector
Control on the back of the transmitter should
be left in the factory-selected setting.
