• Ne placez pas l’appareil à des endroits :

– Extrêmement chauds ou froids

– Sales, poussiéreux, sablonneux

– Extrêmement humides

– Soumis à des vibrations

– Soumis à des champs magnétiques

– Soumis à des chocs mécaniques

– Exposés au rayonnement direct du soleil (pendant des durées prolongées)

• N’installez pas l’appareil sur une surface instable, car il pourrait chuter et risquerait d’être

endommagé ou de provoquer des blessures.

• Ne laissez pas tomber l’appareil.
• Débranchez l’adaptateur secteur de la prise murale si vous avez l’intention de ne pas l’utiliser

pendant une longue période. Pour débrancher le cordon d’alimentation, tirez-le par la fiche. Ne
tirez jamais sur le cordon proprement dit.

• Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet métallique n’entre en contact avec des pièces métalliques de cet

appareil. Si cela se produit, un court-circuit risque de survenir et d’endommager l’appareil.

• N’utilisez pas l’appareil si son cordon est endommagé ou si l’appareil est tombé ou a été endommagé.
• Gardez toujours les contacts métalliques bien propres.
• Ne démontez pas et ne transformez pas l’appareil.
• Pendant son fonctionnement, une augmentation de la chaleur de l’appareil est normale.
• Afin d’éviter toute interférence avec vos téléviseurs ou appareils radio, gardez l’appareil

éloigné de ceux-ci.

Nettoyez l’appareil avec un chiffon doux et sec ou un chiffon légèrement humidifié à l’aide d’une
solution détergente neutre. N’utilisez aucun type de solvant comme de l’alcool ou du benzène qui
risque d’abîmer la finition du boîtier.

Connect the multiple connector of the USB cable to the multiple
connector on back of the cradle (qd).

Connect the other connector of the USB cable to your computer (qf).

Follow the steps in "Charging a Walkman."

Even if the cradle is not connected to a wall outlet, the Walkman can be
charged via the USB cable.

• The Walkman cannot be recognized by a computer if the cradle is connected to the computer

using the DC cord.

• If the Walkman is disconnected from the cradle while data is being transferred from a

computer, attach the Walkman to the cradle and transfer the data again. If you cannot transfer
the data, initialize the hard disk of the Walkman and try to transfer the data.

• The player will not be charged while data is being transferred even though the CHG LIGHT

lights up.

Using the optional audio cord (qg) , you can connect the cradle to a device that
outputs audio, such as a speaker. Be sure to turn off all the devices before
connecting them.

Follow the steps in "Charging a Walkman."

Connect the audio cable (not supplied) to the LINE OUT jack.

• While the cradle is connected to a computer, no sound is output from the LINE OUT jack of the cradle.
• Sound from the computer is not output from the LINE OUT jack of the cradle. Disconnect the

USB cable that is connected to a computer.

• While the cradle is connected to an audio output device, no sound is output from the

headphones of the Walkman.

 Connecteur multiple pour un Walkman : permet de raccorder le Walkman à

Interrupteur CHG (charge) LIGHT : lorsque l’interrupteur est réglé sur « ON »,

le rebord de la station d’accueil s’allume pendant que le Walkman est en charge
(CHG LIGHT), puis s’éteint lorsque la charge est terminée.

Connecteur multiple pour un ordinateur ou d’autres appareils : permet de

raccorder le câble USB (fourni avec le Walkman). Le câble USB doit être
branché entre la station d’accueil et l’ordinateur.

Lorsqu’un autre appareil qu’un ordinateur est branché, reportez-vous au mode d’emploi fourni
avec cet appareil.

Prise LINE OUT : permet de raccorder un équipement audio, par exemple un

haut-parleur, à l’aide d’un cordon audio en option.

Languette pour changer d’adaptateur

Retrait d’un adaptateur
Poussez la partie saillante à l’aide d’un objet long et fin, par exemple un stylo,
puis tirez vers le haut pour retirer l’adaptateur comme illustré en E.
Mise en place de l’adaptateur
Installez l’adaptateur dans le sens indiqué dans l’illustration F, puis poussez-
le jusqu’au déclic.

Reportez-vous à l’illustration G.

Branchez la plus petite des bornes du cordon CC (fourni) (7) à la prise
DC IN de la station d’accueil (8).

Branchez la plus grande des bornes du cordon CC à l’adaptateur
secteur (fourni avec le Walkman) (9).

Branchez d’abord le cordon secteur (fourni avec le Walkman) à l’adaptateur
secteur.

Branchez le cordon secteur à la prise murale (0).

Fixez le Walkman au connecteur multiple placé sur la station d’accueil (qa).

La charge commence. Le temps de charge varie en fonction du modèle. Pour plus
d’informations, reportez-vous au Guide d’utilisation fourni avec le Walkman.

Positionnez correctement le Walkman sur la station d’accueil.

Reportez-vous à l’illustration G.
Grâce au cordon CC (fourni) (7) et au câble USB (fourni avec le Walkman) (qs),
vous pouvez charger un Walkman alors qu’il est raccordé à un ordinateur.

Branchez la borne multiple du câble USB sur le connecteur multiple
situé à l’arrière de la station d’accueil (qd).

Branchez l’autre borne du câble USB sur votre ordinateur (qf).

Suivez les étapes de la section « Mise en charge d’un Walkman ».

Même si la station d’accueil n’est pas branchée à une prise murale, le
Walkman peut être chargé via le câble USB. Toutefois, vous ne pouvez pas à la
fois transférer des données et charger le Walkman.

• Le Walkman n’est pas reconnu par un ordinateur si la station d’accueil est raccordée à

l’ordinateur à l’aide du cordon CC.

• Si le Walkman est déconnecté de la station d’accueil pendant le transfert des données depuis

un ordinateur, repositionnez-le correctement et recommencez le transfert des données. Si vous
ne pouvez pas transférer les données, initialisez le disque du Walkman et recommencez le
transfert des données.

• Lors du transfert de données, la recharge du lecteur ne s’effectue pas, même si le voyant CHG

LIGHT est allumé.

Grâce au cordon audio en option (qg) , vous pouvez brancher la station d’accueil
à un appareil audio, par exemple un haut parleur. Vous devez mettre hors
tension tous les appareils avant de les raccorder.

If you use the unit at a place subject to static or electrical noise, the track’s transferring information
may be corrupted. This would prevent successful transferring authorization on your computer.

• Do not subject the unit to:

– Extreme heat or cold

– Dust, dirt, or sand

– High humidity

– Vibration

– Strong magnetic fields

– Mechanical shock

– Direct sunlight (for extended periods of time)

• Do not set the unit on an unstable surface as it may fall, causing injury or damage.
• Do not drop the unit.
• Unplug the AC adapter from the AC outlet when not in use for an extended period of time. To

disconnect the power cord, pull it out by the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of this unit. If this

happens, a short circuit may occur and the unit may be damaged.

• Do not operate the unit if it has a damaged cord or if it has been dropped or damaged.
• Always keep the metal contacts clean.
• Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. This is normal.
• Keep the unit away from TV or AM receivers, as it may disturb reception.

Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent
solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine, which may damage the finish.

When using the NW-A3000 series model, be sure to replace the attachment with the one for the
NW-A3000 series before using the cradle.

 Multiple connector for a Walkman: Connects the Walkman to the cradle.

DC IN jack: Connects the DC charging cord to charge the Walkman.

CHG (charge) LIGHT switch: When the switch is set to "ON," the edge of the

cradle lights up while the Walkman is charging (CHG LIGHT), and it turns off
when charging finishes. Does not light when set to "OFF."

Multiple connector for a computer and other devices: Connects the USB cable

(supplied with the Walkman). You need the USB cable to connect the cradle to
your computer.

When devices other than a computer are connected, refer to the operating instructions supplied
with those devices.

LINE OUT jack : Connects a device that outputs audio, such as a speaker,

using an optional audio cord.

Tab for changing an attachment

To remove an attachment
Push the tab using a long, thin object, such as a pen, and pull up to remove the
attachment as illustrated in E.
To install the attachment
Fit the attachment in the direction illustrated in F, and push it in until you
hear a click.

Refer to Illustration G.

Connect the smaller terminal of the DC cord (supplied) (7) to the DC IN
jack of the cradle (8).

Connect the larger terminal of the DC cord to the AC adaptor (9).

Connect the AC cord to the AC adaptor beforehand.

Connect the AC cord to the wall outlet (0).

Attach the Walkman to the multiple connector on top of the cradle (qa).

Charging starts. Charging time varies depending on the model. For details, see
the Operation Guide supplied with the Walkman.

Attach the Walkman firmly into the multiple connector.

Refer to Illustration G.
Using the DC cord (supplied) (7) and the USB cable (supplied with the
Walkman) (qs), you can charge a Walkman while it is connected to a computer.
