The ultra-compact DCR-SX83 is the first standard definition camcorder to feature the advanced “Exmor R” CMOS 
sensor, which delivers stunning low-light sensitivity with improved image clarity and reduced noise. In addition, 
16GB of embedded flash memory give you room to capture and store up to 44 hours of video, while a 25x 
optical/300x digital zoom lens helps capture close-ups from far away.

Designed for compact cameras

sensor relocates the photo diodes 

above the support circuitry,

with better results in lower lighting 

conditions.

far away. In addition, Digital Zoom

Direct connection to DVDirect® 

Express DVD burner (sold

The DCR-SX83 supports a direct 

connection to the VRD-P1 
DVDirect® Express DVD burner 

(sold separately), which allows you 

to burn DVDs directly from your 

camcorder without the need for a 
PC. And because the VRD-P1 is 

powered by your camcorder, you 

only need to plug in your camera 
to AC power.

display
The 2.7” Clear Photo™  LCD (230 
K) display provides exceptional 

viewing clarity with 230K pixels 

resolution. The display rotates up 
to 270 degrees for multiple viewing 

angles, as well as provides sharp, 

detailed images for monitoring or 
playback. The convenient touch 

panel allows easy access to 

menus and additional functionality 
such as spot focus and spot 

metering.
