D-Link, a worldwide leader in networking
products, introduces the new DSL-502G, a
newly designed external ADSL Router that
provides the convenience of both a USB and
Ethernet interface at an affordable price.
The DSL-502G uses ADSL (Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line) technology to bring
you Internet connection speeds up to 150 times
faster than a 56K analog modem over a
standard phone line.
Two computers can simultaneously connect to
the DSL-502G through its USB and Ethernet
port, to share its high-speed Internet connec-
tion. The DSL-502G can be connected to an
Ethernet switch to allow more computers to
share the Internet connection. With a simple to
access web configuration interface, the DSL-
502G can be managed by any computer on the
network or even remotely with an Internet web
browser.
The DSL-502G interface features G.dmt
modulation for speeds of up to 8Mbps down-
stream and 640Kbps upstream.

G.lite is also supported, allowing 1.5Mbps
downstream and 512Kbps upstream. The
modem complies with G.dmt, G.lite, G.hs and
T1.413 Issue 2 full-rate ADSL making it
interoperable with a wide range of DSLAMs.
The DSL-502G supports Bridge RFC1483,
Static IP, Dynamic IP, PPPoA, as well as PPPoE
connections. IP Sharing is done through the use
of Network Address Translation (NAT). NAT
allows multiple computers to share an Internet
connection with one public IP address, which
eliminates the expense of having to purchase
multiple Internet accounts.
The DSL-502G is easily upgradeable in the
field, making it future-proof for both end-users
and service providers.
The DSL-502G is an ideal solution for your
broadband needs, whether you’re a home user
who requires high-speed Internet access for
faster web surfing and quicker downloads, or
a small business that depends on the Internet
to conduct daily business.
