• Be careful not to damage the power cable’s protective insulation. Do

not cut or abrade the cable, expose the cable to heat or flame, or place
heavy objects on the cable. When removing the cable from a power
outlet, pull on the plug; never pull directly on the cable itself. Should
the cable be damaged, return it to your retailer for a replacement.
Continued use could result in fire or electric shock.

• Do not use the AC adapter near water, or expose the cable to steam or

moisture. Do not handle the AC adapter when your hands are wet.
Should water or other foreign matter find its way inside the adapter,
immediately turn the camera off, unplug the power cable from the power
source, and take the adapter to a Nikon-authorized service center for
inspection.  Continued use could result in fire or electric shock.

• Do not expose the adapter to direct sunlight, heat, or flame.
• Use in a well-ventilated area.  Do not use when covered, as the heat generated

by the adapter could deform the casing or cause fire.

• Using the adapter during thunderstorms could result in electric shock.

If you hear thunder while the equipment is plugged in, do not touch the
adapter or use the equipment until after the storm has passed.

• Do not drop.  Should the adapter suffer a strong physical shock, do not

use until after you have taken it to a Nikon-authorized service center for
inspection.

• Do not modify or disassemble.
• Unplug the adapter when not in use, when replacing the batteries, and

when cleaning or storing.

• Keep out of reach of children.
• Use only the cable provided with your EH-4.
• The power cable provided with the EH-4 is for use with the EH-4 only.

Do not use the cable with other equipment.

Thank you for your purchase of the EH-4 AC Adapter (Figure A).  The EH-
4 is for use exclusively with the D1 series of digital camera and should
only be used with a power source of 100–240V and 50 or 60Hz.

The symbol 

 indicates important safety precautions that must be

observed to ensure safe operation of this product. Be sure to read all
sections marked with this symbol before use.

Before connecting the AC adapter, be sure the camera is off.

✔ Caution:  Use the battery-chamber cover when the battery is removed
from the camera.

Follow these steps to connect the adapter (see Figure B):

Plug the power cable into the AC adapter.

Use only the cable provided with your EH-4.  Depending

on the country of purchase, the cable provided will be rated for
power sources of 100–120V or 220–240V.

Open the door which covers the DC IN and VIDEO OUT connectors
and insert the power jack into the connector labeled DC IN.

Caution:    The power jack must be fully inserted in the DC IN
connector.

Plug the power cable into a power outlet. You are now ready to turn the
camera on.

Be sure to use a power source appropriate to the cable

provided in your country or region.  Using another cable or incorrect
voltage could result in fire or electric shock.

When operating the camera with the AC adapter, take care that the
camera does not accidentally become unplugged.  Do not carry the
camera with you while the adapter is connected.

 The adapter is for indoor use only.  Use the battery when

operating your D1 series out of doors.

  Avoid using the camera continuously for long periods with the AC

adapter, as the camera may overheat.

  The adapter may produce a slight hum when in operation.  This

does not indicate a malfunction.

  The adapter may generate radio noise when in use.  Do not use

in the vicinity of a radio or television set.

Before disconnecting the AC adapter, be sure the camera is off.  Unplug
the power jack from the camera’s DC connector, then unplug the power
cable from the power source by pulling on the plug.  Unplugging the
adapter by the cable could damage the cable’s protective insulation,
leading to fire or electric shock (see Figure C).

✔ Caution:  Do not unplug the AC adapter when the camera is on, or
when data are being recorded to or deleted from memory.  Forcibly
cutting power to the camera when in these circumstances could result in
loss of data or in damage to the camera’s internal memory.

Improper use of the EH-4 could result in fire or electric shock.  Use should
be accompanied by the following precautions.
• Be sure to use a voltage appropriate to the cable provided with your

adapter.  Depending on the country of purchase, the cable provided will
be rated for 100–120V or 220–240V.

• Should you notice smoke or an unusual smell or noise coming from the

adapter, immediately turn the camera off and then unplug the power
cable from the power source.  After confirming that the adapter is no
longer smoking, take it to a Nikon-authorized service center for inspec-
tion.  Do not attempt repairs yourself.

うございます。EH-4 は、デジタルカメラ D1 シリーズ専用の
AC アダプタです。家庭用コンセント（AC100V）から直接カ
メラに電源をとることができます。

EH-4 の付属品と各部名称は、図 A をご覧ください。

ご使用の前にこの「使用説明書」をよくお読みの上、十分に理

Gracias por adquirir el transformador de corriente alterna EH-4 (Figura
A). El modelo EH-4 está diseñado para utilizarse exclusivamente con las
cámaras digitales de la serie D1 y debe usarse sólo con una fuente de
corriente de 100–240V y de 50 o 60Hz.

El símbolo

Siga los siguientes pasos para conectar el transformador (ver Figura B):

Enchufe el cable de corriente en el transformador de corriente alterna.

Use sólo el cable proporcionado con el transforma-

dor EH-4. Dependiendo del país en que se haya comprado, el cable
proporcionado estará preparado para fuentes de corriente de 100–
120V o de 220–240V.

Abra la tapa que cubre los conectores DC IN y VIDEO OUT e inserte
la clavija de corriente en el conector marcado con DC IN.

completamente en el conector DC IN.

Enchufe el cable de corriente en una toma de corriente. Ahora ya se
puede poner en marcha la cámara.

Asegúrese de utilizar una fuente de corriente apro-

de un cable diferente o de un voltaje incorrecto podría provocar

Cuando la cámara esté funcionando con el transformador de corriente

Antes de desconectar el transformador de corriente alterna asegúrese
de que la cámara está apagada. Desenchufe la clavija de corriente del
conector de corriente continua de la cámara y a continuación desenchufe
el cable de corriente de la toma de corriente tirando del enchufe. Si
desenchufa el transformador tirando del cable, se podría dañar el
aislamiento protector del cable, lo que podría provocar fuego o una
descarga eléctrica (ver Figura C).

✔ Precaución:  No desenchufe el transformador de corriente alterna
cuando la cámara esté encendida o cuando se estén grabando datos en
la memoria o borrándolos. Si se le corta la corriente a la cámara de
manera forzada en estas circunstancias, se podría producir una pérdida
de datos o un daño a la memoria interna de la cámara.

El uso incorrecto del transformador EH-4 podría provocar fuego o una
descarga eléctrica. Su utilización debería acompañarse de las siguien-
tes precauciones.
• Asegúrese de utilizar el voltaje apropiado con el cable proporcionado

con el transformador. Dependiendo del país en el que se haya
comprado, el cable proporcionado estará preparado para 100–120V ó
220–240V.

• En el caso de que note que del transformador sale humo o un olor

extraño o que hace ruido, apague la cámara al instante y desenchufe
el cable de corriente de la toma de corriente. Después de asegurarse
de que el transformador ha dejado de echar humo, llévelo a un centro
de asistencia técnica autorizado por Nikon para su inspección. No
intente repararlo usted mismo.

• Tenga cuidado de no dañar el aislamiento protector del cable de

corriente. No corte o pele el cable, no lo exponga al calor ni a las llamas
ni coloque objetos pesados encima de él. Cuando desconecte el cable

• No use el transformador de corriente alterna cerca del agua ni exponga

el cable al vapor o a la humedad. No maneje el transformador de
corriente alterna con la manos húmedas. En el caso de que entrase
agua u otra sustancia extraña dentro del transformador, apague la
cámara al instante, desenchufe el cable de corriente de la toma de
corriente y lleve el transformador a un centro de asistencia técnica
autorizado por Nikon para su inspección. El uso continuado podría
provocar fuego o una descarga eléctrica.

• No exponga el transformador a la luz directa del sol, al calor o a las

llamas.

• Utilícelo en una zona bien ventilada. No lo use mientras esté cubierto,

ya que el calor generado por el transformador podría deformar la
carcasa o producir fuego.

• El uso del transformador durante una tormenta eléctrica puede provo-

car una descarga eléctrica. Si escucha truenos mientras el equipo está
enchufado, no toque el transformador ni utilice el equipo hasta que la
tormenta haya pasado.

• No deje caer el transformador al suelo. Si el transformador sufre un

fuerte golpe físico, no lo utilice hasta después de haberlo llevado a un
centro de asistencia técnica autorizado por Nikon para su inspección.

• No lo modifique ni lo desmonte.
• Desenchufe el transformador cuando deje de utilizarlo, al cambiar las

baterías y al limpiarlo o al almacenarlo.

• Manténgalo alejado del alcance de los niños.
• Utilice sólo el cable proporcionado con el transformador EH-4.
• El cable de corriente proporcionado con el EH-4 es para el uso

exclusivo con el EH-4. No utilice el cable con ningún otro equipo.

次の手順で、カメラにACアダプタを取り付けます（図B参照）。

電源コードのソケットを、AC アダプタの電源コード差込み
口に差し込みます。

カメラのDC入力端子・ビデオ出力端子カバーを開け、DC接
続用コードのプラグを DC 入力端子に差し込みます。

電源プラグをコンセントに差し込みます。

これで、カメラの電源を入れることができます。

カメラをお使いになる際は、プラグがカメラから外れないよう
にご注意ください。

修理をご依頼ください。そのまま使用すると、火災・感電

溶けて、火災・感電の原因となります。

• 雷が鳴り出したら、電源プラグには触れないでください。

感電の原因となります。雷が鳴り止むまで本製品から離れ
てください。

• 付属の電源コード以外のコードを使用しないでください。

■取り外し方法

カメラ本体の電源スイッチを「OFF」にして、電源プラグとDC
接続用コードのプラグを抜きます。プラグを抜く際は、コード
を引っ張らずに、必ずコード先端のプラグを持って抜いてくだ
さい（図 C 参照）。

AC アダプタの使用方法

■取り付け方法

AC アダプタを取り付ける前に、カメラ本体の電源スイッチが

「OFF」になっていることを確認してください。
