Shooting - Selecting Particular Effects
   Manually Setting the Shutter Speed and
        Aperture
You can manually set the shutter speed and aperture to achieve a particular effect.
This is convenient for shooting fireworks and other images for which it is difficult to
set the correct exposure automatically.

Turn the mode dial to  .
• The shutter speed and aperture setting will
show in the display panel. They will also appear
in the LCD monitor or viewfinder if it is on.

Press the   or   arrow on the omni
selector to select a shutter speed.

Press the   or   arrow on the omni
selector to select an aperture setting.

Shoot the image.
• The exposure compensation, flash exposure compensation and AEB mode settings
cannot be adjusted in this mode.
• The 1/1000 shutter speed can be selected when the aperture is set to between
F4.0 and F8.0.
